Understanding the profile of community health workers in breast cancer screening education: women’s preferences and insights from a qualitative focus group study

A multi-phase structured cascade model for mass training of community healthcare workers in performing clinical breast exams in remote regions

by

A pilot training program in Pakistan used a cascade model to teach outreach healthcare workers (HCWs) in remote areas how to perform clinical breast exams (CBEs). Six HCWs were trained by breast surgeons, who then trained 15 more HCWs. The program significantly improved HCWs' confidence and skills, with gains sustained over a year. This model shows promise for expanding access … [Read more...] about A multi-phase structured cascade model for mass training of community healthcare workers in performing clinical breast exams in remote regions

Improving Access to Genetic Services for Women with Breast Cancer from Underserved Communities in California: Design and Implementation of a Community- Engaged Program

The impact of a small-group mammography video discussion on promoting screening uptake among non adherent Chinese American immigrant women: A randomized controlled trial

by

This study looked at how to increase mammogram rates among nonadherent Chinese American immigrant women. Women were divided into two groups: one attended an in-person small group discussion with community health workers (CHWs) and a culturally relevant video, while the other group received the video by mail. Both groups saw increased mammogram rates, but those who attended the … [Read more...] about The impact of a small-group mammography video discussion on promoting screening uptake among non adherent Chinese American immigrant women: A randomized controlled trial

Training health workers in clinical breast examination for early detection of breast cancer in low‐ and middle‐income countries
