Authors: Community Health Systems Initiative Round Table Series
Dr. Palazuelos, Partners in Health, and Dr. Ari Johnson, co-founder and director of Muso, discuss a ProCCM approach that builds on ideas of iCCM in Mali, while considering the multiple barriers patients face to care. Muso, an organization in Mali, was initially run by volunteers; over the past decade Muso has been rapidly growing and is currently expanding into eight new sites partnering with the Ministry of Health. Muso utilizes a ProCCM approach that detects illness early by proactive CHW home visits. Results show that Muso has been successful in lowering the child mortality rate in the communities it serves by reaching the majority of children falling ill within 24 hours. Listen to Dr. Palazuelos and Dr. Johnson share their experiences working with CHWs and global health. Learn more about Muso by visiting https://www.musohealth.org/
