World Vitiligo Day: Lessons from Mexico’s Annual Headquarters and Its Real-World Impact

by

Authors: Julia Sigova, Jorge Ocampo Candiani, Torello Lotti, Yan Valle

Vitiligo is a skin condition causing white patches that impacts quality of life, with limited effective treatments. A study in Bangkok highlighted gaps in awareness across ethnic groups. The World Vitiligo Day (WVD) campaign, particularly its 12th edition in Mexico, has been successful in raising awareness through global outreach and local initiatives. Future efforts should focus on studying its impact using detailed data analysis to improve awareness and engagement strategies.
