July 3, 2024 By

Authors: Romário Correia dos Santos, Lenira Ferreira Ribeiro, Cláudia Fell Amado, Lívia Milena Barbosa de Deus e Méllo, Liliana Santos

This article examines the impact of digital health tools on Community Health Workers (CHWs) in Primary Health Care (PHC). Through qualitative methods involving union leaders, managers, and health professionals, it identifies both longstanding and new challenges. Traditional issues like bureaucratic burden and work division persist, while new concerns include tool maintenance, quality, and training. The study underscores the importance of logistical, financial, and political support to effectively integrate digital health into CHWs’ roles.
