This study examines the factors contributing to stunting in children under five in Rwanda and explores potential solutions. Researchers conducted ten focus group discussions with parents and forty in-depth interviews with nurses and community health workers. They identified three main themes: the importance of awareness about healthy diets for mothers and children, the significance of personal and food hygiene, and the various factors that affect healthy eating among pregnant women and children. The findings highlight the need for culturally sensitive nutrition strategies that address these issues through a multifaceted approach, including economic opportunities and health education, especially for women, while also empowering community health workers to support families effectively.
