When ART is not a magic bullet: Tailored care for vulnerable people living with hiv in the era of treat-all in Shinyanga, Tanzania

by

Authors: Tusajigwe Erio, Josien de Klerk, Eileen Moyer

This study looked at how community health workers in Tanzania help people living with HIV stay on treatment. It found that for vulnerable groups like children and older adults, support from families, communities, and health workers is essential. Community health workers play a key role because they understand their communities and can connect people to this support. The study also warns that making their roles too rigid could reduce their effectiveness, and highlights the need for continued support for community-based care.
