This study developed a simple costing tool to help governments and organizations plan and budget for community health worker (CHW) programs. When tested in Bangladesh and South Sudan, the tool identified important funding gaps, including salaries, training, supervision, career development, and work resources. The findings show that relatively modest investments could strengthen CHW programs and improve the support given to these mostly female workers, helping them provide better healthcare in their communities.
