This study explored how culture influences sleep habits among Latina women and found that many put the needs of their families before their own health, often sacrificing sleep. Community health workers helped identify these cultural beliefs and showed they can play an important role in raising awareness about healthy sleep in ways that are trusted and culturally appropriate. The study highlights the need for sleep health programs that are tailored to the values and experiences of Latina communities.
