Using nominal group technique to develop a training model for community health workers in physical rehabilitation services: in-sights and perspectives from stakeholders

by

Authors: Miriam Mapulanga, Tafadzwa Dzinamarira, Dr Thembelihle Dlungwane

This study looked at what community health workers need to learn to provide physical rehabilitation services and how they should be trained. It found that they need skills in assessing patients and managing care, and suggested a simple training program that combines classroom and practical learning over about three months. The study shows that with proper training, community health workers can help fill gaps in rehabilitation services, especially in areas with few health professionals.
