Using mHealth to improve health care delivery in India: A qualitative examination of the perspectives of community health workers and beneficiaries

by

Authors: Lakshmi Gopalakrishnan, Laura Buback, Lia Fernald, Dilys Walker, Nadia Diamond-Smith, in addition to The CAS Evaluation Consortium

Common Application Software (CAS) is a new mHealth intervention aimed at addressing time efficiency and quality of healthcare by CHWs. The objective of this study was to collect data on CHWs’ perspectives on CAS, changes in CHW-beneficiary interactions after CAS implementation, and challenges CHWs faced as a result of CAS. Although the beneficiaries’ views were mixed, the CHWs felt that CAS heightened their status in local communities.
