This study examined how community health promoters in Kenya are involved in helping people manage high blood pressure. Although national policies now allow them to support services for chronic diseases, their involvement in hypertension care is still limited and inconsistent in practice. Community health promoters can play an important role because they already work closely with communities and are motivated to help. However, challenges such as delayed stipends, shortages of supplies, and limited awareness about their expanded roles make it difficult to fully implement these policies. The study suggests that better coordination, communication, and stable funding are needed to strengthen community health workers’ role in hypertension care.
