Training Promotoras to Implement a Mindfulness-based Healthy Lifestyle Program in Rural Communities

by

Authors: Sandra Soca Lozano, Acadia W Buro, Karen Gonzalez-Videla, Carmen Rodriguez, Diana Rancourt, Heewon L Gray, Rocio Bailey, Laura Redwine, Marilyn Stern

This report discusses the facilitators and barriers encountered while training promotoras to implement a mindfulness-enhanced healthy eating and physical activity intervention, ADAPT+, using the Train-the-Trainer model. The aim was to establish guidelines for sustained implementation of ADAPT+ beyond the training process. These guidelines may inform promotora training in other mindfulness-related interventions in the future.
