In the Guiana Shield, where malaria persists among hard-to-reach populations involved in gold mining, a community-based intervention relies on trained community health workers (CHWs). This study evaluated the quality and effectiveness of the training program for CHWs using a mixed-method case study. The training-of-trainers model, based on the CDC framework, showed high satisfaction, good learning outcomes, and successful implementation in the field. The study emphasizes the importance of appropriate training design, continuous training, and peer learning to ensure the efficacy of CHW training programs for sustainable interventions.
