by

Authors: Adriana Viola Miranda, Trio Sirmareza, Ryan Rachmad Nugraha, Maritta Rastuti, Habibi Syahidi, Rindang Asmara, Zack Petersen

Indonesia, home to a large population of young children, faces a high prevalence of stunting, a serious issue with lasting consequences. The government aims to eliminate stunting by 2030, with community health workers (CHWs) playing a central role. Over 1.5 million Indonesian CHWs conduct crucial monthly monitoring and counseling. This assessment explores CHWs’ current involvement, remaining challenges, and recommendations for improvement in recruitment, recognition, incentives, and collaboration. Enhancements in these areas are vital for the success of the stunting eradication program.
