In remote areas of French Guiana, a Mobile Public Health Team (MPHT) was created to improve healthcare access for multicultural Amazonian populations. The team, made up of nurses and community health mediators, provides health education and outreach, often working with community leaders. During the COVID-19 pandemic, they reached over 6,000 people and conducted health promotion activities in schools and communities, addressing issues like malaria and tuberculosis. Their work shows how combining healthcare expertise with community mediation can effectively meet local health needs.
