In this study, authors investigated the use of mobile devices to train and educate CHWs in Kirewa subcounty in eastern Uganda. Twelve CHWs were provided with phones with educational videos about nutrition, health, and hygiene. Following a three month trial period, researchers conducted individual interviews and focus group discussions. Overall, CHWs reported that the videos were a more effective teaching method when compared with traditional training methods. Additionally, the videos made CHWs feel more appreciated. This study suggests that video education tools may be a valid way to train CHWs, especially in more rural areas.
