This study tested a new mobile app designed to help village health volunteers (VHVs) in Thailand screen for dental problems in people who have trouble getting to a dentist, such as those in remote or rural areas. After a short training, the volunteers used the app to assess oral health and refer patients. Their results were closely aligned with dentists’ assessments, and most users found the app easy to use. The app shows promise in helping improve access to dental care, but more testing in real-world settings is needed.
