This study reviewed research on how community health workers help people quit tobacco in the United States. It found that these programs often lead to better quitting outcomes, especially among underserved groups, because CHWs build trust, provide ongoing support, connect people to treatment, and address everyday challenges that affect health. The study suggests expanding these programs to reach more groups and combining medical treatment with strong, community-based support.
