This study examined the role of Community Health Workers (CHWs) in rural South Carolina and found that they help improve community health by connecting people to care, supporting disease prevention, and addressing local health needs. Using data from statewide initiatives and existing research, the study showed that CHWs are effective in reaching underserved populations and helping communities access services and resources. The findings highlight the important contribution of CHWs in strengthening primary healthcare and improving health outcomes in rural areas.
