This dissertation explores how community health workers (CHWs) and daycare services in India impact maternal and child health, as well as maternal employment. Using rigorous analytical methods, the study finds that CHWs, like India’s Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs), significantly improve access to reproductive healthcare, leading to better outcomes like antenatal care, institutional deliveries, and contraceptive use. Public daycare centers also help increase employment among economically vulnerable mothers. Additionally, CHWs play a crucial role in boosting infant vaccination rates. The findings highlight the importance of expanding community-based interventions to improve health and employment outcomes for marginalized populations in India.
