This study explored the use of community health workers (CHWs) embedded in clinics to help Black individuals living with HIV in Miami-Dade County improve their adherence to antiretroviral therapy. From December 2022 to September 2023, three CHWs were trained to support ten participants with a viral load over 200 copies/mL for three months. The feasibility of this approach was assessed based on recruitment rates, participant demographics, adherence to the study, and feedback from the CHWs. The recruitment rate was 5.7 participants per month, and 70% of participants attended more than 75% of the sessions. Feedback indicated positive perceptions of the CHW’s role and the duration of support. Overall, the study found that integrating CHWs into clinical settings is a promising method to tackle social barriers and improve treatment adherence for Black individuals living with HIV.
