This review looked at how extreme heat affects community health workers (CHWs) in low- and middle-income countries. It found that CHWs face serious risks like dehydration, exhaustion, and stress during heatwaves, yet they often lack training, proper equipment, and policy support to stay safe. Despite these challenges, their close ties with communities and commitment to service remain strong assets. The study identified practical ways to protect and support CHWs during extreme heat, such as better training, stronger partnerships, and more flexible systems that respond to local needs. Overall, helping CHWs adapt to rising heat is vital for keeping both them and their communities safe.
