In this study, researchers investigated the impact of culturally appropriate maternal and newborn health-related educational videos on maternal knowledge among pregnant women and female CHVs in Nepal. Researchers enrolled 101 pregnant women and 39 FCHVs from four communities in rural Nepal. Study participants were shown four educational films related to antenatal care, pregnancy complications, newborn care, and postpartum hemorrhage. Researchers used a pre- and post-test design to evaluate the intervention. At post-test, researchers found a significant improvement in knowledge scores among both groups of participants. The results of this study suggest that visual education materials may improve maternal health knowledge, especially among those in rural communities.
