by

Authors: Chanceline Bilounga Ndongo, Linda Esso, Daniele Sandra Yopa, Armelle Viviane Ngomba, Nestor Atangana Onana, Boris Kompguep, Loïc Tchoupo, Gbétogo Maxime Kiki, André Arsène Bita Fouda, Jules Leon Owona Manga, Georges Nguefack-Tsaque, Georges Alain Etoundi

Community Health Workers (CHWs) in Cameroon play a key role in disease detection, outbreak response, and health education through community-based surveillance (CBS). Their strong community ties help them identify health threats, but they face challenges like lack of legal recognition, distrust, and limited resources. To improve their work, they suggest better training, financial support, protective gear, and more CHWs. Strengthening their role with legal backing and sustainable resources is essential for effective public health surveillance.
