This study examined the participation level of Village Health Teams (VHTs) in community-based healthcare in Mitooma district, Uganda. A structured questionnaire was used to collect data from 341 VHTs. Results showed that a majority of VHTs were heavily involved in healthcare initiatives, with females, older individuals, and those engaged in business more likely to participate actively. The study suggests the importance of gender, age, and employment in enhancing VHT engagement and recommends implementing long-term incentive systems to support their involvement.
