This study looked at the training needs of village doctors in rural China, who play a key role in healthcare. It found that these doctors prefer training on clinical knowledge, common disease diagnosis and treatment, and continuing medical education. They also prefer training at hospitals above the county level and want the training to be low-cost or free. The findings suggest that future training programs should focus on these preferences to better support village doctors.
