This review examined how digital training is being used to prepare community health workers in low and middle income countries. It found that digital training, often delivered through smartphones and online platforms, generally improved community health workers’ knowledge and was well accepted by participants. However, there is still limited evidence on whether it improves practical skills, service delivery, or patient health outcomes. The study concludes that digital training is promising, but more high-quality research is needed to understand its full impact.
