Optimising Equity Impacts Of Community Health Worker Programmes In Low- And Middle- Income Countries

by

Authors: Liana Chase, Kate Hampshire, Sonia Ahmed, Nasima Akhter and the REACH Team

This study aims to create recommendations to enhance the impact of Community Health Worker (CHW) programs in reducing health inequities in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). By reviewing 167 studies from 33 LMICs, it assesses how effectively CHWs reach and improve health for the most disadvantaged groups. It also identifies key challenges and supportive factors for equitable CHW service delivery, offering valuable insights on how these programs can make a positive difference.
