This study sought to analyze the existing demand and supply of mental health care in the health district of Tshamilemba in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Researchers also critically examined the district’s operational response capacity to address mental health. A multimethod, cross-sectional exploratory study was conducted, including a documentary review, household survey, interviews, and focus group discussions. Results emphasize the need to identify concrete priority mental health actions to address gaps in mental health care in the DRC, including the use of CHWs in delivering evidence-based mental health services.
