This study in New Jersey looked at how people feel about working with community health workers. A survey of 75 clients found that almost everyone trusted their community health worker, was satisfied with the support they received, and felt better able to make health decisions. People who met their community health workers more often reported even stronger trust. However, those facing challenges like unstable housing, disability, or lack of insurance tended to report slightly lower levels of trust and satisfaction. Overall, the findings show that community health workers are highly trusted and valued, especially when they are able to engage with clients regularly and address wider life challenges.
