This study explored how a quality improvement project improves rates of screening and referrals with postpartum Latinx immigrant mothers. CHWs were designated to assist with postpartum depression (PPD) screening and referral for behavioral health services. Results demonstrated a 21% increase in screening of eligible postpartum mothers and referral rates to behavioral health services increased from 9% to 22% of patients that screened positive. CHWs were an asset in increasing screening and referral practices for PPD.
