Maternal mortality remains a serious issue, especially in underserved communities. Women from marginalized groups, including Black, Indigenous, and rural communities, face higher risks due to limited healthcare access, socioeconomic challenges, and racial bias in healthcare. This review examines these disparities, highlighting the impact of poverty, lack of infrastructure, and social factors on maternal health. It suggests solutions like Medicaid expansion, culturally sensitive care, community health worker support, and telehealth for remote areas. Case studies emphasize the need for systemic change to improve maternal health and achieve equity across all communities.
