In remote communities, traditional birth attendants (TBAs) play a key role in maternal and child health, but their integration with modern healthcare is debated. This study reviewed the impact of training TBAs on pregnancy outcomes. Training was found to reduce perinatal and neonatal mortality, but not stillbirth. However, there are concerns about the quality of existing studies and inconsistent results. While the findings suggest some benefits from TBA training, more research is needed to improve training programs and better understand their impact.
