This brief highlights the potential of women’s groups as a strategy to improve child health, particularly in reaching underserved communities and zero-dose children (those who haven’t received any vaccines). Based on a review of studies from 2010 to 2022, supported by FHI 360 and Gavi, it found that women’s groups—community-based groups that share knowledge and build networks—can help address health, economic, and social barriers. The review rates interventions as promising, inconclusive, or proven, helping planners decide if women’s groups are effective for improving immunisation coverage and child health in vulnerable areas.
