This study tested whether training could help community health workers use local herbal knowledge to prevent and manage non-communicable diseases (NCDs). Fifty-seven workers in Wagir received a structured empowerment session. After the training, their knowledge and skills improved significantly. The results show that empowering CHWs with herbal-based local wisdom can strengthen their role in controlling NCDs.
