This study integrates HIV testing into community-based household tuberculosis (TB) contact screening in Cameroon and Uganda. Trained community health workers offer TB screening and voluntary HIV testing to household contacts of TB patients. Results show high acceptance of HIV testing among contacts, with 88.2% accepting testing. Factors influencing acceptance include age, index case HIV status, and country. The integrated approach increases access to HIV and TB care for those unaware of their HIV status. Implementation aspects such as CHW selection and training are crucial for success. This community-based approach is effective in high TB and HIV burden settings.
