In this study conducted in Mali, the cost and cost-effectiveness of community health workers (CHWs) treating acute malnutrition were evaluated across three districts. Different levels of CHW and health center supervision were assessed for their impact on treatment outcomes. Costs per child treated ranged from US$203.40 to US$279.90, depending on the level of supervision, with costs per child cured ranging from US$303.90 to US$324.90. The findings suggest that increasing supervision levels could be cost-effective if supervision costs are optimized without compromising quality. Further research is needed to refine supervision models and improve efficiency in delivery.
