This study in southern India looked at whether training could improve the knowledge and attitudes of frontline health workers about palliative care. More than 1,300 ASHA workers, auxiliary nurses, and staff nurses received training on topics such as managing symptoms, communicating with patients, and providing care at home. After the training, both groups showed clear improvements in their knowledge and attitudes, with many more workers demonstrating a strong understanding of palliative care. The study shows that regular, structured training can better prepare frontline health workers to support people with serious and life-limiting illnesses.
