This study explored what helps or prevents community health workers from being successfully integrated into clinical care teams. Surveys and group discussions with community health workers in Arkansas showed that many felt supported, but several factors affected how well integration worked. These included having clear roles, understanding community needs, good communication with supervisors, supportive onboarding, and strong teamwork with other staff. The findings suggest that health organizations can strengthen community health worker programs by improving role clarity, communication, and collaboration within clinical teams.
