This study compared incidence of sexual partner disclosure among adults living with HIV with CHW support and those without CHW support in Uganda. The quasi-experimental study consisted of a CHW-led intervention arm and a control arm, where the intervention arm received CHW disclosure support in addition to routine care. The results showed that the incidence of disclosure was higher in the intervention arm (8.76 per 1,000 person-days) compared to the control group (5.15 per 1,000 person-days). These results indicate that CHW-led support mechanisms increased the rate of sexual partner disclosure among adults living with HIV with disclosure difficulties and can be used as a mechanism to accelerate HIV disclosure in rural settings.
