Tuberculosis (TB) preventive treatment (TPT) for children exposed to TB is often not widely implemented. A study in Oromia, Ethiopia, explored how home-based care could improve access to TB prevention. Interviews with healthcare workers, managers, and caregivers revealed that home-based services are more convenient for families, saving time and money. A team-based approach was suggested, with health extension workers and TB specialists sharing responsibilities. Integrating TB care with other home-based services like HIV and vaccinations was recommended to reduce the workload. Increasing community awareness was seen as key to making these services more acceptable and improving TPT coverage for children.
