This study examined how community health workers (CHWs) and volunteers in Guinea understood and carried out their roles in delivering health services between 2017 and 2021. Findings showed that both groups had strong knowledge of their responsibilities and were actively implementing them. The presence of CHWs was linked to greater decision-making power and stronger capacity, which was also associated with higher vaccination coverage. The study highlights that in decentralized systems, community health actors need clear understanding of their roles, along with consistent support and funding, to improve health outcomes.
