This study examined the impact of Community Health Worker (CHW) engagement on tobacco abstinence in adults with serious mental illness. Results showed that higher CHW visit frequency and duration were associated with increased tobacco abstinence rates. CHWs facilitated engagement by building trust, providing accountability, and addressing barriers to treatment access. Training and integration within clinical teams were identified as key factors for effective CHW implementation.
