This study explored how feasible it is to train community health workers (CHWs) in motivational interviewing (MI). A group of 24 CHWs in Oklahoma took part in the training, which included online modules and one in-person session. The results showed that the training was well-received and feasible, with most CHWs finding it useful and increasing their use of MI. The training was effective in raising knowledge and could be integrated into existing systems. However, challenges included data collection difficulties and feelings of being overwhelmed. The study suggests that MI training for CHWs is in high demand, but improvements can be made, like offering shorter sessions and more practice opportunities.
