Home Visits for Postpartum Depression Intervention among Low-Income Latinas: Results from the PST4PPD Project

by

Authors: McClain Sampson, Miao Yu, Rebecca Mauldin, Lorena Gonzalez, Angie N Mayorga

This study explored a home-visiting program called PST4PPD, led by bilingual community health workers, for low-income Latina mothers at risk of postpartum depression (PPD). Results showed significant reductions in depressive symptoms and increases in self-efficacy among participants. With a high completion rate and positive outcomes, the study highlights the potential of such interventions in addressing PPD risk factors like self-efficacy and stress management among Latina mothers.
