This study in the Philippines looked at how well community health workers understand HIV and how prepared they are to provide HIV education. Among 186 workers, most had good knowledge about HIV transmission and prevention and felt very prepared to educate others. However, some still had incorrect beliefs about how HIV spreads and held views that could contribute to stigma toward people living with HIV. The study highlights the need for regular and consistent HIV training to correct misinformation and help community health workers provide accurate, respectful health education.
