Health Literacy And Advocation Amongst Community Health Workers

by

Authors: Dustin R. King

This study focused on improving health literacy about hypertension in South Asian communities. Medical professionals, including chemists, doctors, and community health workers, completed questionnaires before and after an educational session. Results showed poor initial understanding but significant improvement after a single teaching. Barriers included cultural attitudes, language differences, and busy work environments. The findings highlight the potential of targeted education to improve health knowledge.
