Geographic Information System-Based Mobile Application Design for Health Care in Older Persons in Rural Community by Village Health Volunteers

September 26, 2022 By

Authors: Kukiat Tudpor, Adisorn Wongkongdech, Ranee Wongkongdech, Thanyarat Chaiyakarm, Worawit Jitsukka, Kemika Sombateyotha, Songkramchai Leethongdeesakul, Narongsakdi Kuboonya-Aragsa, Chalard Chantarsombat, Krissanachai Kimchai, Nutchanun Kamonroek, Niruwan Turnbull

In this article, authors describe the design of a geographical information system (GIS)-based mobile application. Through collection of health information from nearly 8,400 older adults and 1,100 village health workers in a community in Thailand, the project team supported the development of an application which offers information on six key outcome variables, such as geographic location and psychological stress. In the future, mobile applications like this may be used to streamline the work of CHWs.
