Studies show that community health workers (CHWs) can deliver footcare interventions (FCIs) as part of diabetes care in high-resource countries, but more evidence is needed for low-resource settings. This study aimed to refine the key components of footcare interventions for CHWs (FIne-CHWs) to support type 2 diabetes patients in Indonesia. Through a Delphi process with 22 diabetes experts, consensus was reached on 41 out of 42 components. The study also highlighted concerns about CHWs being unpaid volunteers, which could affect the success of the program. Three key issues emerged: the need for footcare education for all diabetes patients, remuneration for CHWs, and flexibility in delivering footcare.
