Through key interviews and focus group discussions in 4 low- and middle-income countries, this study assesses factors influencing CHW motivation and job satisfaction, including: work-life balance and remuneration, relationships with stakeholders, and opportunities to support community members. This study provides important evidence on CHW work experiences outside of a high-income country setting, and provides insights on strategies to improve CHW motivation and workforce retention.
